• 07.14.2007 - TSF Visits the Lotus Festival

  On July 14th, members of our group attended the Lotus Festival at Echo Park in Los Angeles. This event is held every year free to the public to bring entertainment and public awareness of many community services that are available to them.

  Powerpoint Presentations of Talks Available
  This conference was directed toward Thalassemia patients, parents, and loved ones, as well as members of the medical community. The focus of the conference was to learn about recent advancements in Thalassemia care and to provide a unique opportunity to meet others who are affected by Thalassemia. Guest speakers were Nancy Sweeters (CHO), Dr. Elliott Vichinsky (CHO), and Dr. John Wood (CHLA).

  This event was for patients, parents, loved ones, and members of the medical community to learn about the new oral chelator, Exjade, along with other important topics in the Thalassemia community. Guest speakers include Dr. Thomas Coates, Dr. Punam Malik, and Susan Carson, R.N.

  This was our first event at Children's Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA), and we were excited to be able to meet the patients, parents, and staff at the hospital.
